Bullying - A Parent's Guide: How to Tell & How To Make It Stop by Joe Wojcik
Joe Wojcik is an enthusiastic anti-bullying activist who aims to protect children from bullying in schools. His campaign to end bullying is two-fold: First, he reaches out to students in schools as "Joe the Biker" during assemblies; the second part is to educate and inform parents about bullying in its varying forms, and give them the necessary anti-bullying education to make it stop. I worked as both an editor and a writer for the redesign of the parent's guide, although the majority of the work involved proofreading and copyediting.
Visiting International Professional Program (VIPP) Newsletter
As a communications intern with VIPP, one of my responsibilities is to write, edit, and design the online newsletter. The most recent newsletter has recently came out in April 2013, and I was able to work primarily as a writer and editor. Many of the contributed articles were written by ESL speakers and needed to be edited for grammar, consistency, and style.
Tom's Christian Tours
Tom's Christian Tours is a business that offers Alaskan tours whose management recently changed hands. The new owners wanted to update their informational letter and sign-up in order to garner more interest for an upcoming tour. My task was to edit the document for clarity and conservatively change the overall style. I focused primarily on word choice, grammar and style rules, and readability.
