I'm Cheyenne Roy. During my studies I have learned to be adaptable in any situation, but the cornerstones of my educational and life experiences have generated four dominant characteristics for my professional career.
As a writer, I write both creatively and academically. This includes creating content for websites and print-based documents, as well as understanding a document's intention and audience. My writing includes newsletter articles, memos, reports, and analyses.
As an editor, I examine the mechanics of a document to ensure consistency and coherency without altering an author's intention. I aim to polish an author's work to be publication-ready through copyediting, developmental editing, proofreading, and fact-checking. It is my job to communicate effectively with authors and have a broad knowledge of various style guides.
As a designer, I blend writing and innovation to produce evocative creations. I familiarize myself with brand standards, typography rules, and software in order to generate my designs. Some of the design work I have done includes the layout of newsletters, flyers, annual reports, booklets, and some side projects for my own use.
As a learner, I seek opportunities to build upon the skills and proficiencies I already have and gain as many new experiences as I can. I believe that I can learn something in any situation--through both success and failure. This attitude has taught me to be a problem-solver as well as self-reliant.
