Rhetorical Analysis of Professional Writing Booklet
I completed this rhetorical analysis in collaboration with several other group members prior to a redesign of the Professional Writing Program's booklet. The two documents we analyzed were the "Professional Writing: It's Personal" booklet and the "Branching Out" alumni booklet. In this analysis, we engaged with the color schemes, the images and graphics, and typography of the two documents in order to frame our design of the new booklet.
Cultural Consumption: An Essay
This semester-long research project focused on the consumption and commodification of Native American culture during the 1920s in America. I researched Native American performer Tsianina Redfeather Blackstone and the literary work of Oliver LaFarge, specifically his book Laughing Boy.
Editing Observation Memo
I wrote this observation memo as a part of a larger editing project. Although the primary purpose of this memo was to be a reflection of the project as a whole from the perspective of a third party witness to the editing process, it was to be written both thoughtfully and academically.
Visual Communication Audit
I critiqued the American Cancer Society's external documents in terms of their effectiveness in communicating the organization's mission and success. I selected this organization because I have volunteered with Relay for Life in the past and I am fairly familiar with the work of the organization. The American Cancer Society does amazing work for those diagnosed with cancer as well as their families and loved ones.
